Lorena Sánchez

Lorena, also known as 'Sin Histamina' on social media, has been a fan and user of Henna Morena long before our paths crossed, which is why our philosophy and values are so aligned.

A journalist by training and a communicator by profession, she had a clear sense of her vocation from a young age. Life has led her to focus on health education and outreach, and she is also a breastfeeding and BLW advisor.

Which Henna Morena values do you identify with the most?

I love the respect for natural hair, just as it is—true to its origin and the current stage of each person’s life. That the goal is truly to care for, nourish, and strengthen both physically and emotionally.

The attention to making everything feel like a ritual: ancestral, toxin-free products, respect for the environment and all things natural, the sensory experience... Even visiting the physical store is a full-on experience.

It’s also essential to me that the products are safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding—that says a lot.

What is your personal ritual with Henna Morena products?

I really enjoy the whole experience of applying Henna or Cassia Obovata poultices at home. For me, it’s a complete ritual: from opening the package, preparing and straining the infusion to mix with the Henna, to adding the hair oil...

While it sets, I usually have breakfast or play with my little one, and the post-application shower feels amazing—using the solid shampoo, the conditioner, seeing the results, and finishing it off with the Hydrating Serum with Silicon and Jojoba.

It’s a full-on explosion of textures, scents, and nature. It makes me feel like I’m giving my body the very best.

How has your hair changed since using Henna Morena?

I discovered Henna Morena in 2019, at a time when my health wasn’t great, and that showed in my hair—it was weak, fine, and falling out a lot. I was used to having beautiful, dense, long, and strong hair, so it was a really tough time for me.

That’s when I discovered the benefits of pure Henna and hair infusions, while also working on my health from the inside out. I applied Henna at home, just as I was taught, and since then I haven’t stopped trying different varieties, poultices...

My hair is healthy, strong, and shiny—even after going through postpartum and now approaching a second one. I love wearing it both short and long, without fear.

Do you have any tips or tricks you’d like to share?

I definitely recommend giving hair oils a try. For years, I avoided them because I had the false belief that they would make my hair greasy. The truth is, I wasn’t choosing the right ones for my hair type, nor was I using them correctly.

Henna Morena advised me on the ideal oil for my hair type—Grape Seed and Petit Grain—how to apply it, and how often. The difference was amazing! Now I’m no longer afraid of using hair oil—I actually love both the process and the result.

How would you describe Henna Morena to a friend?

Henna Morena is like a bowl of lentil stew for your hair. But with the sensory experience of your grandma cooking it—with love and her secret touch, slow-cooked, no rush, in a clay pot.

Which product do you recommend the most?

I discovered Henna Morena through the Henna with Nettle and Thyme infusion at a time when I really needed to strengthen my hair and stop the hair loss. It’ll always be special to me because it helped me so much—and the color looks beautiful over my natural shade, which is brown with reddish highlights.

I also found the nourishment and strength provided by the Cassia Obovata poultice to be amazing.

Which product would be essential if you had to go to a desert island?

Even on a desert island, with everything that implies, I love the feeling of having clean, hydrated hair.

So I’ll cheat a little and take two things: a solid shampoo—either Juniper Tar or Green Tea—and the Walnut and Sage Conditioner. These products work wonders on my hair and smell fantastic.
