Are you blonde? Plant-based coloring is also for you.
Would you like to dye your hair naturally and have blonde hair? Welcome! At Henna Morena, we work with plant-based dyes for light hair that want to take care of themselves and turn this process into a pleasurable ritual.
If you're blonde and want to transition to dyeing with plants but still have doubts about which products to choose, this is your article. But before we begin, let's clarify some important points about plant-based coloring.
The first thing you should know is that plants dye by deposition, meaning they deposit their pigment onto the hair cuticle and therefore do not penetrate or damage it to enter its interior. Plant-based coloring works by adding color to your hair tone. Since there is no oxidation process, they do not lighten the hair color, so if you're brunette, you'll never be able to achieve a golden blonde with plants.
This is also why gray hairs are dyed a slightly lighter shade than the rest of the hair: it's not the same to dye over white (gray hair) as it is over blonde or brunette (rest of the hair). However, in the case of blondes, you're in luck because the contrast between gray hair and the rest of the hair is minimal.
Finally, if this is your first time using plant-based dyes, you should consider that before application, your hair should be healthy and well-hydrated, especially if you've been using synthetic dyes. Therefore, we recommend that you review our Henna Morena Method, especially steps 1 and 2, before applying the coloring.
Having said that, let's take a look at our specific formulas for your hair. Let's get started!
Tell me what you're looking for and I'll tell you what formula you need.
LIGHT COPPER TONE WITH GOLDEN HIGHLIGHTS
If you're looking for a light copper tone with golden highlights, the perfect formula for you is Chamomile Henna. This coloring mixes powder from two fresh pigmenting plants, Chamomile and Henna. The result is a copper hair with subtle golden highlights covering the gray hairs in a color slightly lighter than the rest of the hair. Henna contains more than 70 phenolic components with a high antioxidant capacity. It is a plant very rich in mineral salts (10%), among which iron, calcium, potassium, zinc, copper, and manganese stand out, all of which are of great importance for hair health and vitality.
The included infusion of Bittersweet, Mallow, and Southernwood has a moisturizing and softening function, strengthens the hair, and protects it from dehydration and dryness.
If the desired color is not achieved after the first application and the gray hairs are not well covered, do a second application. Gray hairs are covered more effectively the more times you apply the product to the hair.
GOLDEN TONE
For those women who want to maintain and enhance their natural blonde and cover gray hairs, the ideal coloring is Chamomile. This coloring is perfect for light brown or dark blonde hair, tones gray hairs in a golden shade, and is a combination of Chamomile with 5% Henna. The infusion included in this coloring is Chamomile and Birch, rich in flavonoids, carotenes, and vitamin C, natural antioxidants that protect the health of light hair. As mentioned in the previous case, if you have many gray hairs or they have not been well covered, you should perform a second application.
NORDIC BLONDE TONE
If your hair is very light blonde, you can opt for Chamomile with Cassia Obovata, which acts as a color bath and does not cover gray hairs. This formula is like two treatments in one as it mixes Chamomile, a plant that strengthens the hair, and Cassia Obovata, which provides shine due to its high content of vitamins and minerals. It also contains other plants such as Rosemary or Henna that will help maintain stronger hair. It includes an infusion of Marigold, Chamomile, and Orange Peel that enhances and maintains the blonde color.
