7 things you should know about oils

- 06/06/2017

Botanical oils have been used for thousands of years to care for skin and hair. The secret to applying it: a little time and don't leave it on while you are in the sun. If you apply them regularly, you will discover one of nature's great treasures.

We answer the most frequently asked questions so that you can get the most out of this super product for your hair:

1. How often should I moisturise my hair with oil?

If your hair is damaged or has a tendency to be dry, we recommend oil baths once a week for at least a month to restore your hair to health. After that, you can space the baths out to every two weeks or once a month. If your hair is already healthy and you want to keep it moisturised, we recommend applying it every three weeks or once a month.

2. Should it be applied to dry hair?

Yes, because oil and water repel each other! For the oil to penetrate well into the hair structure, you need to apply it on dry hair (from roots to ends) and leave it on for at least 2 hours (better if it's overnight) and then wash your hair with your usual shampoo to clean it well and remove the remains of the oil.

3. How much should I use?

Just enough to soak into the hair, from roots to ends. Here is a link to a tutorial on how to apply the oil: Watch the tutorial.

4. Can I use the oil to go outside?

No, because our oils are photosensitive products. You should apply it while you are at home or when you go to sleep.

5. Does the oil grease?

No, don't worry, our first cold pressed oils are not greasy. They are rich in fat-soluble vitamins, Omega 6 linoleic acid and antioxidants. They are also low in saturated fatty acids so they help regulate excess oil in oily hair. The protective and repairing function of the oil remains in the superficial layers of the hair. Its sebum regulating action occurs at the scalp level (hair follicles).

6. Can I apply it to my body?

Of course they do! Our oils moisturise in the deep layers of the skin, because they have a good permeability.

7. Does the oil create a film that prevents the Henna from penetrating the hair better?

No. On the contrary, our oils have an acid pH (5-6) compatible with the acid pH of Lawsonia Inermis (Henna). This makes the vegetable colouring dye even better.

Now that you know all about it, get your oil and discover the wonders it will do for your hair!
