Why does hair fall out more in autumn?
Autumn is a time when nature undergoes visible changes, such as the fall of leaves, and so does our hair. It is a time of absolute renewal. We answer the most frequently asked questions.
Is it normal for my hair to fall out more in autumn?
Yes, don't panic! It's totally normal as your scalp and hair have been exposed to stressors such as sun, salt, chlorine.... The hair structure has been weakened during the summer months and now, by nature, restarts its life cycle by "changing and renewing the hair".
So, if you are noticing some hair loss, but no visible and drastic changes in the volume and density of your hair, it's OK.
If the hair loss worsens and is visible on your hair...
You may be mistreating your hair or you may be undergoing some internal changes (in this case, we recommend that you consult a medical specialist first). Sometimes this can be due to:
- Always combing your hair in styles that stretch your hair such as ponytails or tight braids.
- Stress or lack of energy, which makes it grow weaker.
- A diet poor in iron or zinc, two basic nutrients for our hair. Beetroot or seaweed can be an ideal food.
- Excessive use of synthetic dyes that weaken the hair.
- Environmental factors (in very extreme climates our hair also suffers).
- Genetic factors that start to become visible and that we cannot change.
Basics to combat hair loss
1. Hydration
Take cold-pressed oil baths once a week. It is a pleasant and very healthy beauty ritual for the health of your hair. Our recommended oil: Almond Oil with Lavender, because it repairs the hair structure, provides intense hydration and can also stimulate hair growth.
2. Wash
If you wash it once or twice a week, your hair will keep its moisture for longer. If you are following the Henna Morena Method, use the Juniper Solid Shampoo in Step 1. It is ideal for fragile hair, balances and tones the scalp and strengthens the hair. If you are already on Step 3, or are not following The Henna Morena Method, choose the Nettle & Thyme Shampoo. This formula strengthens and prevents hair loss thanks to its ability to stimulate blood circulation to the scalp. It is ideal for brittle and fragile hair.

- Cassia Obovata. Also known as neutral Henna, Cassia Obovata is a plant that stops hair loss, strengthens hair and adds shine and softness, without dyeing. It has a structure very similar to keratin, a protein that forms part of the nails, hair and skin, and restores health to damaged hair. Our recommendation is once a month or once a fortnight.
