Colouring for brunettes
Are you a brunette and want to dye your hair naturally? Welcome. At Henna Morena we work to make dyeing with vegetable dyes a pleasant, easy and clean ritual.
If you want to take the plunge into plant-based hair dyeing but still have doubts about which products to choose, this is the article for you.
The first thing you need to know is that plants dye by deposition, i.e. they add colour to the colour of your hair. For that reason, they can never lighten it. So, if you are a brunette, you will never be able to achieve a golden blonde with plants. You'll have to leave being Marilyn for another life...
You should also know that if you have grey hair, it will be covered with a lighter shade than the rest of the hair for the same reason as the previous one: as the plant-based colouring covers by deposit, it is not the same to dye on white (the grey hair) as on brown (the rest of the hair). Therefore, when choosing the formula, you should also take into account the shade that will cover your grey hair.
If you also want to keep the color intact, we recommend adding Walnut and Sage Conditioner specifically for brunettes, with Walnut extract that provides a light natural dark pigment. Prevents oxidation and premature aging of the hair, moisturizing and enhancing the color of dark and very dark brown hair. Provides intense shine and moisturized hair that is easy to comb and silky to the touch.
Now, shall we look at the options?

BROWN HAIR WITH OR WITHOUT GREY HAIR
If you like a coppery colour, choose Henna with Black tea, Cinnamon and Hibiscus. As well as leaving you with a deep coppery highlights in the grey hair, it will slightly darken your hair thanks to the black tea.
If you like hazelnut colour, use Henna with Cassia Obovata. This combination will bring down the intensity of the Henna with the Cassia Obovata and will also give you a lot of nutrients and vitamins for your hair.
If you like the chocolate colour, use Walnut with Indigo, which enhances the chocolate colour and tones down grey hair to a caramel tone (no coppery highlights).
If you want a soft copper tone with golden highlights, you can use Henna with Chamomile. This is the mixture of plants used by Arantxa Areta, ambassador of Henna Morena. It will leave you with a soft copper tone with golden highlights on grey hair.
Don't have grey hair or don't want to cover it? We recommend a brightening, nourishing treatment that enhances brown hair: Walnut. It is a tree rich in natural naphthoquinones (juglone), tannins found in its leaf, and in polyphenols, powerful antioxidants that react with the hair protein, slightly pigmenting it in dark tones. It does not cover grey hair but with prolonged use it tends to darken the hair and conceal it.
DARK BROWN WITHOUT GREY HAIR
If you want to achieve a light copper tone, prepare a mixture of 50% Walnut and 50% Henna. Put 10 walnut shells in a container with 1/2 liter of water, and bring it to a boil for 15 minutes. Once boiled, add a tablespoon of coffee powder and let it rest. With this infusion, prepare the mixture of the Walnut and the Henna, stirring until you have a cup chocolate-like texture. Then add the Oil, stir and apply to the hair. Leave on for 1 hour: then rinse and wash hair normally..

DARK BROWN WITH GREY HAIR
If you want a chocolate shade without copper, use Walnut with Indigo, which enhances the chocolate colour and tones down grey hair to a caramel shade (without copper highlights).
If you want a dark and not very intense copper tone, apply Henna with Black Tea, Cinnamon and Hibiscus with a little bit of Almond Oil with Henna Flower aroma.
If you want to dye with brunette tones and cover grey hair, choose the special brunette formula: Indigo with Henna with Grape Seed and Petit Grain oil. The more times you apply it, the more the grey hair will be covered, making it match the rest of the hair.
DARK HAIR WITHOUT GREY HAIR
If you want a dark chocolate, use Walnut with Indigo.
If you want a wine/mahogany, choose Henna with Black Tea, Cinnamon and Hibiscus.
If you want to strengthen it, to prevent it from falling out, and to give it shine, without adding colour, choose Walnut.
DARK HAIR WITH GREY HAIR
If you like your grey hair in a coppery tone, you can achieve a slight dark copper tone (especially in the sun), with Henna with Black Tea, Cinnamon and Hibiscus.
On the other hand, if what you want is to recover your original tone, shine and cover grey hair with dark brown tones, choose Indigo with Henna with Grape Seed and Petit Grain oil.
If you have more than 50% grey hair, you will have to do a double colouring.
