Discover the first solid After Sun!
This summer sees the arrival of the first solid After Sun on the market: Shea butter, in solid tablet form. An ancestral and totally natural repairing treatment for after sun. It deeply moisturises, protects the skin and prevents premature ageing. We explain its benefits and how to apply it.
Why a solid After Sun?
This is the era of solid cosmetics. Travelling with creams is often difficult (small hand luggage, problems boarding the plane, toiletry bags with containers that spill their contents...), so we have all decided to think about more practical and versatile cosmetics.
But... An after sun that is not in cream? Yes, and we have not invented it ourselves, but it is offered to us by African women, who have been using it for centuries and who have an enviable skin. Because Solid After Sun is basically the blessed shea butter, a must-have in summer, especially if you're going to be in the sun. We sell ours just as it arrives from Burkina Faso, in tablet form and 100% organic, unrefined, unprocessed and with no added ingredients.
For starters, because it's solid, you can carry it with you at all times without the risk of it spilling into your beach bag, handbag or hand luggage.
This solid After Sun is a 100% organic Shea Butter, and does not contain microplastics, mineral oils and metallic nanoparticles that pollute the sea. It is a natural butter obtained from the fruit of a sacred tree of the West African savannah. It contains vitamin E, a natural antioxidant that acts against skin ageing.
Its Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids protect the cells of the epidermis, improving the elasticity of the skin, leaving it moisturised, smooth and elastic from the first application. Shea butter is also rich in Lupeol, a natural anti-inflammatory that is highly recommended after a day in the sun. It is therefore an excellent anti-irritant, highly recommended for skin that reddens easily or has an allergic tendency.
In Burkina Faso, more than 300,000 women work producing shea in the traditional way. In the association we work with, 1,200 women make a living from it.
Solid cosmetics also allows us to work with more sustainable packaging and this is always a plus. For our 150g Shea Butter we have decided to use PP packaging, an eco-sustainable and highly recyclable plastic material that is Bisphenol A free, non-toxic and resistant to high temperatures, reducing the environmental impact.
How and when apply it?
We apply it after sun exposure or when we get out of the shower with clean skin and without salt. This way it will penetrate better into our skin. We chop the shea butter and rub it on our skin, offering it heat so that it spreads well over the entire surface. Your skin will recover its elasticity in a natural way. And don't hesitate, as well as spreading it on skin, elbows, feet, hands and nails (yes, it strengthens nails!), you can also use it on the skin around the eyes, just before going to sleep: it will soothe you and you will notice how the skin regenerates in an almost miraculous way.
