Every hair is unique, but all fit into the Henna Morena Method.
Do You Know the Henna Morena Method? If you’ve ever heard of it but aren’t sure which products are ideal for your hair type, or if you simply want to learn more, you’re in the right place. In this article, we reveal all the tips for you to apply our Method effectively according to your hair type. It’s time to unleash the full potential of your mane!
If you’re new here, let us tell you that the Henna Morena Method is a guide designed to help you reconnect with your hair and restore its health. The Method is divided into 5 steps in this order: Reset, Hydration, Treatment, Coloring, and Hairstyle Finishing.
Our Method will help you transition from synthetic to natural cosmetics, but it’s also a guide for those who have always used natural products but haven’t quite found the right routine for their hair. It’s not a quick process and requires some patience, but the results will be absolutely worth it.
At this point, if you’ve decided to start the Method, you might wonder, where do I begin? How do I choose between the different products for each step? Don’t worry! We are here to help and guide you. To make it easier for you, we’ve created 5 examples of the Method adapted to 5 hair types: curly, dry, oily, damaged, and weak with hair loss.
CURLY HAIR
Curly hair tends to be drier and more porous compared to other hair types, so it needs constant hydration to prevent frizz and define the curls. The most crucial step of the Henna Morena Method for you is step 2: Hydration. Focus on keeping your hair well-hydrated for the best results.
- Step 1: Reset. First, use the Cocoa and Shea Butter Solid Shampoo for a month to perform a hair detox. This step runs parallel to Step 2 because each wash should always end with hydration products.
- Step 2: Hydration. After each wash, use the Orange and Shea Butter Conditioner or the Henna and Shea Butter Mask.
There is a non-negotiable requirement in step 2: do an oil bath or mask with oil once a week. Choose between the Almond Oil with Henna Flower Aroma or the Almond Oil with Jasmine and Orange Blossom Aroma. If your hair is very damaged or dry, we recommend replacing the oil with the Night Regenerating Serum or Shea Butter, as it is a super hydrating and regenerating natural product, especially for very dry or curly hair. Remember to remove the oils, serum, or shea butter with the Honey and Orange Shampoo and not with the solid shampoo format.
- Step 3: Treatment. When the hair is hydrated, it’s time to nourish it. Apply Cassia Obovata or Walnut once a month. Both offer similar benefits, but with a key difference: Walnut contains tannins that slightly dye the hair brown. If you’re a brunette, it enhances your natural tone while providing other benefits. Cassia Obovata, on the other hand, is for all hair types.
- Step 4: Coloring. This step is optional, but you should know that vegetable dyes not only color but also repair the cuticle and define the curl. Great, right?
- Step 5: Finishing. To define and hydrate the curls, it’s excellent to finish the process with the Aloe Vera Gel with Lavender Aroma or the Aloe Vera Gel with Xanthan Gum if you need total control of your hairstyle. Finally, don’t forget to keep the ends always hydrated with the Silicon and Jojoba Hydrating Serum.
SYNTHETIC/ DAMAGED HAIR
Hair damaged by synthetics appears dry, fragile, and brittle. The goal with the Method is to restore health and repair damage. Therefore, you should emphasize steps 1 and 2.
- Step 1: Reset. Start by washing your hair with the Coconut Solid Shampoo for a month to remove the most ingrained toxins in your hair. You should use hydration products from step 2 in each wash.
- Step 2: Hydration. Apply the Orange and Shea Butter Conditioner after each wash and replace it once a week with the Sage and Orange Mask. Important: perform an oil mask weekly with Grape Seed and Petit Grain oil or, if your hair is very damaged, with the Night Regenerating Serum, removing the excess oil with the Henna and Silicon Shampoo. Starting from the first month, this will be your reference shampoo forever.
- Step 3: Treatment. Once steps 1 and 2 are completed, you can start with plant treatments. Choose between Cassia Obovata or Walnut (if you are brunette, as it slightly dyes the hair brown) to apply the poultice once a month. You will strengthen and regenerate your hair.
- Step 4: Coloring. This step is optional. Only if you have correctly completed the previous steps, and at least one month has passed since you started the Method, your hair will be ready to proceed to vegetable coloring. Choose one of our 10 plant formulas and your hair will have entered a new concept of coloring and care that will give you a more abundant, shiny, and healthy mane.
- Step 5: Finishing. To finish hairstyles, choose the Silicon and Jojoba Hydrating Serum, which will help you control frizz. Apply it daily on damp or dry hair from mid-lengths to ends.
DRY HAIR
Dry hair lacks natural hydration and oils. It is fragile, often has split ends, and is prone to frizz. By following the steps of the Henna Morena Method, especially steps 2 and 3, you will maintain hydration, enhance softness, and improve shine.
- Step 1: Reset. Wash your hair with the Green Tea Solid Shampoo for a month to remove product residue, toxins, or chemicals that are excessively drying your hair.
- Step 2: Hydration. Along with the detox, finish washing with the Orange and Shea Butter Conditioner or, once a week, the Henna and Shea Butter Mask. To reinforce hydration, use the Almond Oil with Lavender with a weekly mask or, in your case, the Night Regenerating Serum, which will bring a spectacular change in your hair's texture. To remove excess oil from these treatments, choose the Honey and Orange Shampoo, which will be your go-to shampoo after the first month.
- Step 3: Treatment. This step is crucial for your hair type because it provides vitamins and minerals that soften and add shine to your hair. Walnut is intended for brown or dark hair, as it lightly dyes in that tone.
- Step 4: Coloring. After following the previous steps, with well-hydrated and repaired hair, it's time to dye it. This step is optional, of course, and you can choose from our 10 coloring formulas.
- Step 5: Finish. Use the Silicon and Jojoba Hydrating Serum from mid-lengths to ends to maintain hydration, add shine, and control frizz.
OILY HAIR
If your hair is oily, follow our Henna Morena Method to balance the excessive sebum production in your scalp. Among the 5 steps in our Guide, you should pay close attention to step 1 for a Detox and steps 3 and 4 for plant treatments to regulate oil production.
- Step 1: Reset. Use the Grapefruit Shampoo Bar for a month to perform a hair detox. Simultaneously, start with step 2.
- Step 2: Hydration. Recovering hydration after each wash is essential, so always use the Orange and Shea Butter Conditioner, avoiding the roots to prevent greasiness. Once the first month is over, use the Sage and Lavender Shampoo without sulfates as your regular shampoo and leave the solid one for occasional use.
- Step 3: Treatment. A monthly plant poultice will help regulate and balance sebum. Choose between Cassia Obovata or Walnut (for brown or dark hair). Additionally, Ghassoul Clay masks regulate scalp pH and remove embedded toxins, facilitating oxygenation.
- Step 4: Coloring. This step is optional, but if you want to add color to your hair, now is the right time because your hair will be healthy and receptive. Vegetal coloring also helps balance excess oil.
- Step 5: Finish. Use the Silicon and Jojoba Hydrating Serum on wet or dry hair as a finishing product that hydrates but doesn't add oil.
WEAK HAIR WITH HAIR LOSS
If your hair feels weak and lifeless, and you even have hair loss issues, first rule out any medical or hormonal problems. Once ruled out, focus your care routine on steps 3 and 4 of our Henna Morena Method, where plant treatments will provide your scalp with vitamins and minerals, strengthening your hair and preventing hair loss.
- Step 1: Reset. Use the Juniper Tar Solid Shampoo for 30 days. You can simultaneously start with step 2.
- Step 2: Hydration. Use the Orange and Shea Butter Conditioner to hydrate your hair with each wash. Don't forget to also do a weekly mask with Almond Oil with Myrrh, applying it to dry hair, leaving it on for 2 hours, and rinsing with the liquid shampoo, the Nettle and Thyme Shampoo, which will be your ally for washing from now on.
- Step 3: Treatment. An essential product for you is the F12 Anti-Hair Loss Lotion, which you can apply daily on dry hair. Additionally, perform a monthly plant treatment, choosing between Cassia Obovata, Walnut, or Shikakai.
- Step 4: Coloring. If you want to dye your hair with vegetal coloring, this is the right time. Good news! Vegetal dyes not only repair the cuticle but also strengthen the hair, preventing hair loss. Choose one of our 10 vegetal dyes according to your hair color.
- Step 5: Finish. The Aloe Gel for fixing or adding the final touches to your hairstyle contains vitamins A, B, C, E, B12, enzymes, and amino acids that act on the scalp, a product that combats hair loss and promotes growth.
