Ghassoul: the clay mask with which to do a spring detox

- 03/21/2022

You may have heard about the benefits of a “detox” to purify the body. Did you know that your hair needs it too?

Hair accumulates impurities, both from the products we use and from environmental pollution, which are not simply removed with regular washing. Hence the importance of doing a hair detox with Ghassoul, a volcanic clay that cleanses deeply, removing impurities and grease.

No matter how often we wash it - or even daily - our hair accumulates a series of impurities, especially when we are constantly exposed to environmental pollution. But not only that, the cosmetic products that we regularly apply to our hair also cause residues to accumulate in our hair. Therefore, from time to time you have to do a reset. As? Very easy: with a Ghassoul mask!

Ghassoul is a natural volcanic clay that is collected in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, where it is traditionally used in hammams. It has a great capacity to absorb impurities and toxins so, when applied as a mask on the hair, it acts as a hair cleanser, removing impurities, grease and cleaning in depth. It also provides shine, volume and silkiness to the hair. This volcanic clay is extremely rich in minerals such as silicon and magnesium, which exert a sebum-regulating action, restoring the balance of the hair. In addition, it contains iron, sodium, zinc, phosphorus and potassium.

What are the benefits of Ghassoul for hair?

- Cleans and degreases hair and scalp.

- Provides resistance and strength to the hair. Smoothes and shines the hair.

- Helps scalp regeneration, in addition to reducing dandruff and itching.

Who is it suitable for?

- For all types of natural hair that are not damaged by dyes or synthetic treatments.

- For oily hair.

- For hair that wants to show off its gray hair, since it eliminates impurities that cause gray hair to turn yellow.

How it is prepared?

Preparing it is very simple: you just have to mix 4 or 5 tablespoons of Ghassoul volcanic clay powder in a bowl and gradually add hot water.

Work the mixture well with a wooden spoon, a brush or a pallet until you get a texture similar to hot chocolate. For dyed or curly hair, we recommend adding a couple of tablespoons of Henna Morena hair oil to the mixture.

Once prepared, apply it to damp hair and leave it on for 30 minutes before removing it with plenty of warm water. Only if you have used oil in the preparation, wash your hair with your usual shampoo.

How often can you use the Ghassoul?

You can apply Ghassoul once every fortnight, or when you notice dull or greasy hair. If you have curly hair, it is highly recommended as a co-wash.

Lose your fear of Ghassoul and renew your hair routines.
