Healthy habits for children's hair

- 08/05/2020

Children's hair is more fragile and delicate than adult hair. As mothers and fathers, we should be aware of this and establish care guidelines that children will later take care of on their own.

What could be better than creating these routines as if they were a game?

These are the tips that will help your child to have healthy and strong hair:

1. Rinse hair with fresh water.

When you return from the beach or pool, rinse your hair with fresh water to remove salt and prevent over-drying.

2. Always wear a cap in summer.

It is important to make children aware of the importance of using sun protection measures. There is no better example than ourselves, so as parents we can also use it to encourage our children to do the same.

3. How much to wash the hair?

The frequency of washing varies depending on the child's age, activity and hair type. The best barometer will be you. We usually recommend washing the hair once or twice a week, but in your case, sweat and dirt may require washing every other day.

4. Oil is your best ally.

It can be nice to share your beauty rituals with your children. Like the weekly mask of first cold pressed oil. In their case, you can leave the oil on for just 30 minutes, then wash with mild shampoo and warm water. Another way to apply the oil is by adding a few drops to the shampoo. Our favorite oil for kids? Almond and Lavender oil.

5. Detangler.

After washing, it is necessary to apply a detangling conditioner to moisturize and nourish the hair to prevent knots and breakage. Use this one withOrange and Shea Butter.

6. Cassia Obovata: Natural anti-lice.

Cassia Obovata, among its many benefits, is a natural bactericide and helps eliminate lice. Prepare a mixture with Cassia Obovata + the Rosemary and Sage Infusion + Almond and Lavender Oil. Apply the poultice on dry hair and cover the head with biodegradable film. Let it act for 1 hour and then wash the hair with shampoo and abundant water. Keep in mind that the nits will have to be removed with a special brush.

7. Shea butter: kids best-friend.

Shea butter is used to moisturize the skin and hair. We recommend it when coming back from the beach or the swimming pool to moisturize in depth. Tip: if you keep the Shea Butter in the fridge and apply it fresh after sunbathing on the skin, they will enjoy it and ask for it themselves!

Get your children used to taking care of their hair from an early age and they will have a healthier relationship with their hair.
