How to avoid frizz by Aida Tinkerbell

- 02/16/2021

These days we all ask ourselves the same question, what's happening to my curls?

First, you need to know this

Changes in season or climate greatly affect our hair. Remember that our hair could act as a barometer, since the structure of our strand is capable of detecting all climatic changes as if it were a perfect weather station.

Winter is one of the most complicated seasons, we have hardly been able to enjoy a proper autumn and our curls have suffered. Autumn is already a complicated season for our hair, we come out of having it punished by the sun, salt and chlorine and a time, summer, of altered beauty routines.

As I always say, a good balance is essential and if we maintain a good hair routine throughout the year, it will be easier for us to combat climate changes and keep hair frizz at bay.

Second, action

It is time to recover those routines and apply some changes in it. Here I leave you some tricks, but remember that each hair is a world. Experiment with them and use the one that works best for you.

Tricks to avoid frizz caused by climate changes are the following:

 1. Increase the number of treatments at home with our botanical oils and use conditioner as a leave-in. Keep your hair balanced, in winter protein will help us avoid breakage, in summer it increases nutrition, it will help maintain hair elasticity and seal hydration in our hair.

2.Introduce steam in your hydration treatments or in your refreshments. You will help reach deeper layers of your strand. The steam acts as a conductor and helps the product penetrate deeper layers.

 3. Seal your ends with shea butter, almond oil and Grapeseed and Petitgrain oil. Heating in winter or summer heat is terrible for our hair. We must try to maintain hydration in our strands as much as possible. Nutrition helps seal in hydration.

 4. Introduce once a week a brushing session with oils. Apply it from mid to ends and brush your hair, dry with one of our wood brushes.

 5. Space out your shampooing, this way you will avoid drying your hair more than necessary. Or apply a trick that works: Add conditioner to your shampoo.

 6. Use protective styles: hats, updos and scarves will be your allies to protect you from the cold, heat or sun.

 7. Introduce Cassia Obovata or Henna in your routine. A treatment with these plants will help protect your hair from the cold and the sun, reduce frizz and strengthen the strand, preventing hair loss.

 8. Don't despair if you find yourself faced with less defined curls that quickly lose their shape. Season changes affect our hair and also our mood.

 9. Remember that curls/waves are hormonal, they nourish your body and soul. Smile, pamper yourself and enjoy your time.
