The best oils for each type of hair
Did you know that first cold-pressed vegetable oils have been used for more than 2,000 years to care for hair? And it does not surprise us: they help to eliminate the toxins and contamination accumulated in our hair, they repair the hair from the abuse of dryers, irons, synthetic products and from the sun's rays, they promote hair growth, hydrate and repair the hair cuticle, provide shine and help the color of the dyes to stay longer.
But... are they all the same? No. Each one has its qualities and each type of hair needs its oil.
Damaged hair: Grape Seed and Petitgrain Oil. This oil has multiple benefits for hair, it is rich in antioxidants, such as polyphenols or tannins. These substances prevent premature aging of tissues and repair skin and hair. It is the ideal treatment for damaged hair, exposed to pollution and external aggressions, such as synthetic color treatments.
Dry hair: Almond and Lavender Oil, source of antioxidants , vitamins A, B and E, healthy fats, and proteins that hydrate and prevent dry hair. This oil is a sebaceous regulator and its regenerative capacity of the tissue favors the repair and strengthening of the hair follicles. It softens the hair, stimulates its growth, restores the natural shine and flexibility to the mane.
Due to its high tannin content, it is a great skin regenerator and a powerful healing agent, so it is used to treat burns and skin diseases.
The Almond, Jasmine and Orange Blossom Oil is another great ally for dry hair and scalp. This combination has soothing and moisturizing properties, is an oil that deeply nourishes, soothes itchy scalp and revitalizes skin and hair.
Curly hair: Almond and Henna Flower Oil, cleanses the scalp, eliminates cells dead and strengthens the hair follicle. Rich in unsaturated fatty acids, it deeply nourishes and hydrates the curls, naturally rebuilding the lipid layer and keeping the hair healthy, flexible and soft. It also has anti-frizz properties.
Oily hair: Grape Seed and Petitgrain Oil. This oil is Formulated from Petitgrain oil, the green leaves of bitter orange, and grape seed oil. Provides the necessary balance for hair that is easily greasy, weighed down or exposed to pollution. It has a smooth and non-greasy texture, with a high concentration of vitamin E and linoleic acid, with antioxidant and anti-aging properties.
Fine hair: Grape Seed and Petitgrain Oil. It is an oil that has multiple properties, among them is that it has a small molecule, which allows the hair to correctly absorb fat. Repairs split ends, prevents breakagehair and provides elasticity and nutrition to fine hair.
To maintain the color: Grape Seed and Petitgrain Oil, deeply hydrates and helps retain moisture, making the color of dyed hair is maintained for longer. It also reconstructs the lipid layer naturally and provides shine and elasticity.
How to apply the oils?
On dry hair, leave it on for a minimum of 2 hours (for those dry or damaged hair, leave it on overnight). Then wash with shampoo and rinse with plenty of water to remove any product excess that the hair hasn't absorbed.
Will they grease my scalp? No, hair is nourished by the amount of oil it needs and what is not necessary is not absorbed. On the other hand, when washing it with shampoo after the treatment with the oil, we eliminate all the product excess that may remain.
Does it have other uses? Yes: to hydrate the skin right before going to sleep, or to prepare with our plant poultices.
