Shea Butter: 7 recipes to get the most out of it
Shea butter is a beauty secret used by many women since ancient times. It contains a wide variety of nutrients and is a wonderful source of hydration for our skin, hair and nails. Thanks to its many benefits it has become an essential part of the daily beauty routine at Henna Morena.
Today we want to share with you 7 recipes to get the most out of this multi-purpose cosmetic.
-
Lip scrub
Mix ¼ of our shea butter in a bain-marie with 2 teaspoons of brown sugar. Then take a toothbrush and apply the mixture to your lips, making light circles. Remove any residue with lukewarm water. If you want, you can use the same mixture as a facial scrub.
-
Henna Curly Girl
When preparing your Henna vegetable dye, after you have prepared the mixture with the water or infusion, grate a piece of Shea butterwith a grater. This recipe is very effective for curly hair, which tends to be dry and needs extra oil for the Henna to penetrate more effectively.
-
Express nutrition
Put the 150g shea butter tablet in the fridge and when you come back from the beach, apply it all over your body. You will see how pleasant and moisturising it feels at the same time.
-
Dry skin
If you have very dry skin, give your skin a deep nourishment with the following recipe. Melt a small piece of shea butter in a bowl in a bain-marie, add 3 tablespoons of almond oil with myrrh and whisk until the two fats break down and blend together. Apply it to your skin and rub it in until it is well absorbed: it will be instantly nourished.
-
Hair serum for curly and afro hair
If you have curly or afro hair, put a little bit (like a fingernail) of shea butter on your fingertips, massage to melt and apply from mid-lengths to ends.
-
Nail strengthener
If your nails are brittle or if you practice water sports, you will need to combat premature ageing. To strengthen your nails, apply a little shea butter to each nail at night. You will immediately notice the benefits. The fats make the nails harder and softer, making them stronger and healthier.
-
Goodbye dark circles
Put the shea bar in the fridge and keep it there: when you wake up with dark circles under your eyes, just apply the cold shea butter to them. In no time at all, you'll see that the bags under your eyes will be reduced and your face will look fresher and brighter.
