The Henna Morena team uses shea in so many different ways that we have decided to dedicate an entire post to it and reveal our secrets.

Shea butter is one of the great discoveries of Western cosmetics. But it has been a fundamental product for centuries as a moisturising treatment for the skin of men and women in Africa.

It is nourishing, protective, regenerating, anti-inflammatory, maintains the hydrolipidic film, prevents water loss from the superficial layers of the skin, reduces photo-ageing and premature ageing. It also boosts collagen, making it ideal for stronger nails and reducing wrinkles.

Our shea butter is produced by women, following the traditional method of Burkina Faso. The whole Henna Morena team is a fan of this product, and each of us uses it in a different way, because there are a thousand ways to apply it.

IMMA uses shea for her hands and to strengthen her nails. She always carries a jar in her handbag and you can see how she spreads some on her hands and nails whenever the environment is dry. She says it is the perfect product to remove cuticles naturally.

M. LUZ uses it on the soles of her feet: she massages it in after the shower, which not only hydrates this area in depth, but also softens the calluses, which eventually disappear. She has the most amazing feet to show off with sandals!

MARC uses it for everything, but he is a fan of massages after sport. He is an expert in Shea Butter and explains that it is used to eliminate lactic acid and reduce stiffness.

MONTSE prefers it for the eye contour. It is important not to "drag it" but to dab it on to activate the blood circulation. It is a very powerful anti-wrinkle for the skin.

PALOMA, who discovered it recently, uses it... even on her eyelashes! And no, that's not a metaphor. She uses an eyelash brush and brushes them upwards for a natural, protective mascara effect.

SANDRA uses it for her hair. She incorporates it, replacing the oil, when she prepares her henna every month, or she melts it in a bain-marie and applies it as a mask, putting her hair up in a bun or in a simple ponytail. Whenever she wears her hair in a bun, she is not only looking beautiful, she is also getting a treatment!

How? Our shea butter arrives solidified, i.e. like a stick of butter. That's because it is pure, and not mixed with any oily or watery base to dilute it.

To apply it to your skin, skin, nails or soles of your feet, just take a dollop with your fingers and spread it between your toes. Rub hard to give it warmth and you will see how quickly it is absorbed. In winter, you can melt it in a bain-marie and it will be easier.

Henna Morena tip

In summer, leave a portion of shea butter in the fridge and apply it to the eye area before going to sleep, massaging it in gently with your fingertips.

And you? Do you have any tip?
