The Henna Morena Method: the Hair Care that will change your hair

No excuses: 2025 will be the year of Hair Care. Hair is finally getting the attention it needs. After the skin care craze on Instagram and TikTok, it's now the turn of hair care. We are seeing more and more tricks on social media to control frizz, there is talk - at last - of hair oiling as an infallible routine to keep hair shiny and hydrated (which is hydration with our Hair Oils) or the importance of wearing a cap like this one to protect your hair, for example. But first we need to know our hair and organise our hair routines in a meaningful way to make them more effective.

Henna Morena is the only hair colouring brand with a Hair Care Method, a global hair care routine that organises the care your hair needs with or without vegetable hair colouring. Every month we receive hundreds of thank you messages from customers who finally know how to manage their hair care, finally understand their hair and use the products in the most effective order. The first step to beautiful hair is to connect with your hair: understand what it needs.

‘Think, then act’, remember the phrase? Well, your hair also needs you to think about it before you take action (buy products, start a routine...). On the one hand, what is your hair type like, what tendencies does it have? Does it tend to be greasy, drier, does it frizz a lot... And on the other hand, what is your lifestyle like, maybe you need to wash your hair too often because of your job? What about diet and stress? Understanding your hair type and context is key to getting the right products and routine for you.

Establish a complete hair routine: start The Henna Morena Method

Each hair is unique, with its own characteristics and needs, but all of them, absolutely all of them, need a series of basic care that we have put together in the form of a guide that we have called The Henna Morena Method. This guide will help you to restore and reset your hair, as well as to keep it healthy over time. In other words, it is a timeless guide.

Start taking care of your hair by doing a reset

The first thing you need to do is Reset your hair. In order to achieve this, we do a Detox together with an Intensive Hydration. You need a solid shampoo and several hydrating products, each one has a specific function. Take note: a conditioner and a mask to moisturise in the shower, and a Hair Oil to moisturise and nourish in depth outside the shower, on dry hair.

Nourishing hair treatments at home

We continue with the Treatment phase, in which we seek to nourish the hair with a treatment of plants and minerals. We have several treatments, so again you will have to choose your treatment according to your hair type and needs.

When your hair is repaired, colouring it with Natural Dyes

After completing these steps Detox + Intensive Moisturising > Treatment (it will have taken you between one and two months) we consider that the hair is now repaired and ready to be dyed -if you wish- with our Natural Dyes. Here you can choose your colour. 

Don't forget using styling products

Whether you colour your hair or not, you should also incorporate Finishing (or styling) products that not only define the hair, but are also rich in nutrients, moisturise, make styling easier and provide the hair with defences.

Add healthy habits that will improve your hair (and skin)

Just as good general health depends on various factors such as diet, sport and lifestyle, so does hair health. Our hair, like our skin, reflects the state of our organism. That's why the better your habits, the more beautiful and radiant your hair will look. Our must-haves are:

- Trim the ends of your hair several times a year to heal, no need for big cuts.

- Reduce the use of hairdryers, straighteners and styling irons.

- Take one ‘relaxing’ shower a week, unhurried and consciously

- Drink plenty of water for radiant hair and skin.

- Eat a balanced diet

- Do strength sports, especially if you are a woman.
