New year, new hair: start your hair detox
To make up for today, we propose a hair detox routine to restore your hair after the holidays and return from the Christmas break with a rested, shiny, and strong mane. New year, new hair with Henna Morena.
Exhausted hair: warning signs
Dull hair, lacking shine, rough to the touch, prone to frizz, and hairstyles that barely hold their shape are clear signs of hair fatigue. Does this sound familiar? Frequent use of heat tools such as curling irons, blow dryers, and flat irons; chemical processes like perms, dyes, and straightening treatments; unprotected sun exposure; inadequate nutrition and lack of proper care; or aggressive hair routines are the main causes. All of this results in tired, damaged hair that truly needs a vacation.
How to restore energy to your hair?
Restoring vitality isn’t difficult—it’s simply a matter of dedication, the right products, and time. Above all, we are clear that getting healthy hair back means that less aggression equals more care. When hair regains its balance, shine and softness return, frizz is under control, and hair feels stronger, more flexible, and much easier to manage. With this goal in mind, we propose an ideal detox for this time of year: pleasant recipes designed for real, mindful self-care.
Hair detox: post-holiday recipes and essentials for your New Year routine
1. For all hair types: Cassia Obovata with fresh ginger infusion
Cassia Obovata is well known for adding shine and body, bringing density to hair that feels weakened or depleted. Ginger, on the other hand, stimulates blood circulation, nourishes the follicles, and helps combat dandruff, irritation, and excess oil.
Ginger infusion applied to the scalp stimulates blood circulation thanks to gingerol, nourishes the follicles, and helps fight dandruff, irritation, and excess oil through its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. It integrates perfectly into the Henna Morena ritual as a natural pre-treatment before vegetal coloring, enhancing the absorption of Mediterranean ingredients such as henna and nettle. It opens pores and oxygenates follicles, improving henna fixation and vegetal shine. It reduces post-chemical-color inflammation, making it ideal for transitions to natural cosmetics.
Preparation:
- Prepare an infusion with 500 ml of water and grated ginger (about 2 cm). Boil for 5 minutes and let it cool slightly.
- Pour the contents of the Cassia Obovata package into a bowl and add the strained infusion until you achieve a hot-chocolate-like texture.
- Add 15 ml (3 tablespoons) of one of our hair oils for extra shine and hydration.
- Apply from roots to ends and leave on for 1 hour. Then wash as usual.
The result is a clean, fresh, and activated scalp, with stronger, more luminous hair.
2. For dry and/or curly hair: Ghassoul mask with Almond Oil and Lavender
Ghassoul is a volcanic clay of Moroccan origin, rich in silicates, magnesium, calcium, and natural saponins, known for its high adsorption capacity. Unlike conventional cleansers, it works by affinity, capturing impurities without disrupting the scalp’s natural balance.
