Henna is the powder obtained by grinding the leaves of a shrub called Lawsonia Inermis. This plant, known since ancient times for its aesthetic benefits, grows in the southern Mediterranean, the Middle East, and India.
It is used as a natural dye for hair due to the pigmenting ability of the Lawsonia molecule. When this molecule interacts with the hair's natural keratin, it chemically reacts and gives rise to the characteristic copper color of Henna. Depending on the hair color, its condition, the method of preparing the Henna, its quality, the degree of grinding, and the contact time with the hair, the coloration can be more or less intense.
In addition to naturally dyeing the hair, Henna acts as a hair treatment by providing a large amount of vitamins and minerals, giving strength, body, shine, and helping to prevent hair loss.
Each of the original formulas from Henna Morena is based on the benefits of phytotherapy, using ingredients from controlled crops or wild harvesting, mostly of Mediterranean origin.
