Henna

LAWSONIA INERMIS

Henna is the powder obtained by crushing the leaves of a shrub called Lawsonia Inermis. This plant, known since ancient times for its aesthetic benefits, grows in the southern Mediterranean, the Middle East and India.

It is used as a natural hair dye because of the pigmenting capacity of the Lawsonia molecule. This molecule, when interacting with the natural keratin of the hair, reacts chemically and gives rise to the characteristic colour of henna, copper. Depending on the colour of the hair, its condition, the way the henna is prepared, its quality, the degree of spraying and the time of contact with the hair, the colouring is more or less intense.

In addition to dyeing the hair in a natural way, henna works as a hair treatment by providing a large amount of vitamins and minerals to our hair, giving it strength, body, shine and slowing down hair loss.
